Little Foragers & Farmers Complimentary Meal
This September, gather the family for a relaxed Friday evening at The Abbey Inn, where little diners can enjoy a complimentary meal from our Little Foragers & Farmers Menu. For children aged 12 and under, the offer includes one main course and one dessert, when dining alongside an adult ordering a main course.

A Celebration of British Game
This Great British Game Season, join us for three exceptional evenings celebrating the distinctive flavours of North Yorkshire. Executive Chef Callum Leslie and Head Chef Duncan Moran will create specially curated menus showcasing exceptional local game, sourced from the surrounding landscapes of Oldstead and Byland (including Newburgh Priory, just two miles from The Abbey Inn).
With Callum Leslie crowned BASC & Eat Game Awards’ Best Game Chef 2026, expect thoughtful, ingredient-led cooking featuring pheasant, fallow deer, mallard and partridge, paired with seasonal produce from our family farm and kitchen garden. Each dinner will evolve with the season and what the land provides; a true celebration of provenance and the remarkable produce on our doorstep.

Thursday 10th December | An Evening with Tommy Banks: The Preserving Season
The final chapter of the year sees autumnal fruits and root vegetables still available for harvest, but our attention begins to shift towards the transition of the seasons. As temperatures drop, the focus turns to preserving as much produce as possible. In doing so, we create exciting new flavours and ingredients, building a well-stocked larder to sustain us throughout the winter months. £95pp

The Abbey Inn’s exclusive use private dining room is situated overlooking the historic ruins of Byland Abbey in North Yorkshire.
It can accommodate up to 14 guests for celebrations and special occasions or it’s simply just a cosy space to catch up with friends and family.

Book a table at The Abbey Inn, a country pub from Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks in the heart of the North York Moors. Serving proper pub classics with an Oldstead twist alongside local hand-pulled ales and seasonal cocktails.
Please include any children or infants when selecting the number of guests in your party.

Stay overnight and dine at The Abbey Inn, sampling our proper pub classics. You will be able to make a table reservation during the room booking process. Breakfast is served at our sister restaurant, The Black Swan (1 mile away).
Please note that The Abbey Inn is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
